Nurturing Nature Enthusiasm

Thanks to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery and a funding award from the Postcode Lottery Trust. Harrow Nature Conservation Forum will be able to offer nine fantastic one-day courses this year!

Have you ever fancied becoming a #citizen_scientist or a Neighborhood Nature Leader or would you just like to know more about the wonderful wildlife, plants and pond life around you? Look no further   ....these courses are designed with you in mind. Our courses are offered locally, so no long travelling to and fro, and delivered by experts who know the area well. Harrow Nature Conservation Forum will support you and offer opportunities to practice what you learn. Furthermore, we are encouraging you to spread the knowledge by offering a course on getting your own nature event in production.

So if nature is your passion or if you just want to know more get in touch for notification of events, times and booking. Here's a taste of what we plan:

Invertebrate habitats and identification - That's Bugs and Creepy Crawlies - The basis for the food chain for most wildlife. 

Mammals - Bats and Small Mammals especially how to survey for these lovely little critters 'cause healthy populations are soooo important for other things we love.

Winter tree identification - Did you know it is sometimes easier to identify a tree from it's bark and the way its' limbs are growing than its' leaves....well it is for me anyway!

Freshwater invertebrates - Become a Pond Dipping expert! The health and variety of pond invertebrates tells you so much about water quality. You could become a local clean water expert with the facts at your fingertips!

How to run your own Nature Event - It's important for those in the know to spread the word so that knowledge is heard!
